Crossing the Sun
The sun is gold leaf, the same sheets as the sunset painting. Everything else is acrylic brushed in horizontal bands — red at the top, then orange, then a yellow-green that takes up most of the canvas — with the strokes left visible rather than smoothed out. The treeline at the bottom is one dark mass with the brush dragged upward through it, so the trees are made of gaps rather than shapes.
Seven birds, and they are not in formation. They are at different heights, different sizes, and none of them line up. Two have reached the sun and one is fully inside it, which is the only place on the canvas where black sits on gold.
