Things I have learned, mostly the slow way.
Everything dated 2010 to 2018 first appeared on an earlier version of this site and is reproduced exactly as it was written, mistakes included.
2015
- I got your backOct 2015Since I was young, I always wanted someone to have faith in me, and show it. But, sadly, that was never the case.
- Always ask questionsSept 2015I’ll begin this post with a story. Not mine. Just a story. Long time back, there was an ashram where a Guruji would teach students.
- Anger never helpsAug 2015As you already know, I never had a fulfilling childhood. Limited means meant we had to go without many things we wanted and needed.
- Make them an offer they can’t refuseJul 2015I come from extremely humble background. My father was Sepoy in the army, but he retired early. On retirement, he worked as a security guard in a bank.
- Minimise risk by innovationJul 2015As I have mentioned in my earlier blog posts, I have not had a privileged upbringing. I had to work for the things I wanted and have taken care of myself from a very young age.
- Keep learningJul 2015I remember when, as a child, i could not wait to get out of school. I hated doing my lessons, but loved exploring new things.
- Always give your bestJul 2015We have all, at one time or the other, been faced with tasks we don’t particularly enjoy, but are forced to do due to circumstances.
- Help build bridgesJul 2015Indians are a strange breed. They are extremely helpful when it comes to dispensing advice, but when it comes to something else, they are quite reluctant.
- Observation – the key to open locked doorsJun 2015Observation is a beautiful thing. It helps us pass the time, and it helps us learn a lot. Our mind is a strange thing. It is highly receptive and notices things that our eyes don’t.
- Freedom always comes for a priceMay 2015We, as Indians, do enjoy the freedom to do just about anything.
