Ayyappa Nagubandi is an inventor and entrepreneur based in Hyderabad, India. He has founded five companies since 2005 and holds nineteen patent applications, five of them filed in 2026 in artificial intelligence.

Broadcast Wearables

The world's first programmable LED t-shirt, later adapted for cyclists and fitness use. Raised ₹20 lakh from friends and family and ₹1.5 crore in angel investment. Featured on History Channel's OMG! Yeh Mera India.

2012 — 2022

Possibillion Technologies

Started as an IT services firm delivering for clients in the Netherlands, Australia, the US, the UK and India, then moved into hardware. Built and deployed the world's first automated idli machine, installed in the Hyderabad Metro. Closed by the COVID lockdown.

2005 — 2012

NowPos

Web and voice technologies. Raised a million dollars in 2005 and reached the front page of Business Standard. In 2006 Brand Capital, the Times of India Group's investment arm, invested ₹10 crore in advertising equity at a ₹100 crore valuation. Stake sold on exit.

2003 — 2006

TrulyIntelligent Technologies

The research arm, and where the engine was actually built. A context-based question answering system called Lilo that understood the intent behind a question rather than matching keywords — running on desktop machines, years before GPUs and cloud computing. Qualified at the Text REtrieval Conference (TREC) in 2006 with a published paper. International patents filed, with interest from banks for ATM deployment.

Frost & Sullivan named NowPos's vMail among the top 20 broadband innovations in Asia Pacific in 2006 — the first time an Indian company appeared on that list.
Featured on CNBC Young Turks in 2007 as one of the youngest founders on the programme, and the first first-time entrepreneur to appear on it.
