Radha in Wait
The whole figure is built from flat planes with a dark line drawn round each one — the face broken into facets, the sari into panels, the folded legs into two green masses. There is no shading anywhere, and no background either. The orange runs behind everything at a single flat weight, so she is not sitting in a room or on a floor.
She is holding the flute rather than playing it. It lies across her lap under both hands and her face is turned away from it. The parrot and the fish are the only other things on the canvas. Both are small, neither is near her, and neither is doing anything.
Unframed, stretched on a wooden frame. Shipping within India included. International shipping quoted on enquiry. Sold with a signed certificate of authenticity.
