The Signal
Palette knife throughout, no brush anywhere on it. The sky and the water are made the same way — flat slabs of grey laid edge to edge — so the surface is broken all over and the horizon is the only straight line on the canvas. The paint stands proud enough to cast its own shadow when the light comes across it.
Two things are not grey. The sun, which is a single yellow shape sitting on the horizon and not moving. And the red line, which starts at his hand and runs down across the water and off the canvas. He is standing in the water, not on a shore, and he is turned away from us.
Unframed, stretched on a wooden frame. Shipping within India included. International shipping quoted on enquiry. Sold with a signed certificate of authenticity.
