Help build bridges

· 1 min read

Indians are a strange breed. They are extremely helpful when it comes to dispensing advice, but when it comes to something else, they are quite reluctant. This trait is visible even when it comes to making introductions!

The entrepreneurial world is small. The charm of start – ups lies in their willingness to help each other out. But, that seldom seems to be the case nowadays. People shy away from introducing you to their contacts. Behind this behavioral pattern lies fear – the fear of losing out on something. What if your friendship with their contact blossomed so well that they forgot about you? What if your contact is an investor and the new guy managed to get funding, while you were shunted to the side?

These questions are valid, but they stem from forgetfulness. We forget that what goes around must come around. If you help somebody, somebody else will help you. Help is always available. Helping build bridges just ensures you get yours when you really need it!
